Regarding elections for Palestinians abroad;

The electoral process was launched after the issuance of the Decree Law amending the General Elections Law No. 1 of 2007, the presidential decree on the legislative, presidential and National Council elections, and the Central Elections Commission’s publication of the timetable for the electoral process, and the process began to proceed in accordance with the legal system regulating the process and the procedures of the Central Elections Commission, and thus If some people try to suggest or call for some electoral issues for which there is no legal text, such as electing Palestinians abroad, especially those with a Palestinian identity, this matter first requires introducing amendments to the general elections law, in addition to special procedures from the Central Elections Commission, and raising this matter at this time carries more than one content. The first is the extent of the proponent’s familiarity with international standards and norms for the freedom and integrity of elections, and at the same time dealing with the elections using the Fazaa system, knowing that these elections are the third legislative elections. The years 1996, 2006 and 2021, and General Elections Law No. 1 of 2007, and as it bears from the year of its issuance, it has been available for scrutiny, review, and proposing amendments for more than 12 years, proposing it now falls under the heading of either disrupting the electoral process or not following up and familiarizing yourself with the mechanisms of the electoral process. After issuing the election decree, the fundamental amendment to the election law becomes a kind of attempt to influence the electoral process, and this conflicts with the integrity and transparency of the electoral process. On the other hand, disrupting the start of the process is more deliberate. In confiscating the constitutional and legal right of citizens to choose who represents them in the legislative institution and the rest of the national institutions, hence we demand;

•    Stop proposing anything that would turn the wheel of the electoral process backwards, and everyone’s responsibility now is to support and ensure that the elections in their three stages are held on time, as they were based on a national consensus.

•    Changing the election procedures to ensure the election of Palestinians who hold a Palestinian identity requires a long time, special preparation, legal reference, and special arrangements with the host countries, which is not available in the approved election law.

•    It is important to record observations regarding the electoral process now and present them after the end of the electoral process as a reform process for the electoral law.

•    Stay away from any issues that might disturb the electoral process

•    Not to use the electoral currency as a means of political wrangling between different parties.
